I'm new to Warfarin. I finally got my INR to 2.6. Tonight, I wasn't thinking about it and I had a LOT of celery. An entire bunch. (Dinner was celery and peanut butter). I didn't realize how high celery was in Vitamin K. How badly is this going to mess up my INR?

It's hard to say if you will see a big change any change at all , everyones metabolism is different, I would suspect the latter, and think your more likely to see a noticeable change if you ate big amounts a few days in a row. If you did an INR test tommorow or the next day you might see a fluctuation, but if its a test in a weeks time it might not be noticeable :-)
Compared to spinach the vit K is low, but 7-8 sticks are considered 100% of your daily intake. To ebb on the side of caution you could talk to your healthcare provider.

Thank you. I don't know if they're open tomorrow, but I'll try calling. I have an appt. on Tuesday. I'm just worried because it's been a month since they found the blood clot and my blood is finally in range (today). I don't know if there are any more clots lurking. At first, I was worried about Warfarin thinning my blood too much, now I'm worried that it's not going to be thin enough! LOL. They put me on Xarelto originally, but I got a hematoma on it, and there's no antidote to Xarelto. So, I had to go off everything for a week, and then switch to Coumadin.

Cool, I don't think you will have any issues but it will give you piece of mind, which we all need :-) Sorry to hear of your clot :-(. At least by Tuesday if lots of celery is going to affect your INR you will see a change in your result and you will know in the future. Would be nice to hear how you get on, all the best!

I stayed away from greens until my next appt., and my INR was 3.1 today.
